New President

(photo taken by Jason Reed/Reuters Inauguration)

Today, Barack Obama became the 44th President of the United States. I was lucky enough to watch his swearing in and his inaugural speech. I will not hide and say that I did vote Obama but I do have a distinct duty to pray for him and his administration. I do hope that he can, with God's grace, bring this country back from the downward spiral it seems to be on. Everyone could use extra prayers these days, even more so the man who has assumed the role and the responsibility of leading this country past all the "problems", be it financial, environmental, global or inner struggles here at home.

I have enclosed a list compiled by Andrew Stanley from "A Diamond in the Rough", adapted from The Book of Psalms.

People with Character:
They walk with integrity.
They do what is right.
They tell the truth.
They don't gossip.
They don't mistreat people.
They side with those who are right.
They keep their word.
They lend money to those in need without interest.
They don't take advantage of people for financial gain.

From Psalm 112, verse 6: "Surely he will never be shaken; a righteous man will be remembered forever."

On a more fun note......

DON'T YOU JUST LOVE THIS PICTURE??? SO ADORABLE!!

Wow. You're up early. I have never seen that poem any where else either. It's pretty old, so I don't know where she got it.

She was the greatest Native Texan. Everyone loved her...I mean, really, really loved her. She didn't have a mean bone in her body and she was a lot of fun too. She was just cool to be around. I miss her so much.

When she got sick, I told Tim, she's gonna be so mad, she won't get to die in Texas. LOL Poor little thing.

I like your post. I'm praying for God to raise up lots of Daniel's and Joseph's to serve our country.

Sorry I haven't been in contact with you for so long. I tried to send you a Christmas card, but since you moved that explains why I got it back!

I'm very surprised to hear that you voted for Obama. His pro-death policies are the worst of the worst. His economic plan will only put us further in the hole and make us into a socialist nation. Sorry, I'll get off my soap box now.

I'm sorry to hear about your new neighbors. We recently got new neighbors as well, and they are night people. They always seem to do their wash at 10pm and it shakes our whole apartment. Over Christmas, they had all night parties for 3 nights in a row, waking Amelia (my 2yo) several times each night. And then on the other side of us, those neighbors got 2 new puppies, both of which whine and cry all day while they're gone to work and I have a hard time telling if it's my babies crying or the dogs!

Well, I need to run. Maybe you could send me your new address? Now that Serena has a more ordered day, I have time to actually sit down! And still have the energy to do something while sitting! :)

God Bless!
