Tonight was the season finale of The Next Food Network Star and it was down between Jeffrey Saad and Melissa d'Arabian from my town of Keller, Texas. Melissa has been the underdog throughout the entire season and she has continually surprised everyone. Her whole concept is teaching others, in particular, mothers who don't have time to spend hours but still want to cook yummy meals. Her show idea was called "Kitchen Survival Guide with Melissa d'Arabian". Matt and I watched the finale tonight and multiple times we kept saying, we want Melissa to win but Jeffrey will get it. He has just won over and over again. And guess what....much to our surprise - Melissa WON!! We were stunned and thrilled. The mother of 4 girls from KELLER, Texas won and her show will be premiering on the Food Network next week!! I can't wait to see it. So congrats to all the mothers out there who think they can't achieve their dreams and still be a successful mother. Melissa did it and so can we!

We were glad to see Melissa win, too - and aren't her girls adorable? What a busy mom! BTW, she is no longer a Keller resident but recently moved near Seattle where her husband is working for Microsoft.
