It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas....

The Christmas season has officially begun at our house! I can hardly believe it...Hubby's birthday is on Tuesday and he normally refuses to let me decorate for Christmas until after his birthday so to have it all up and decorated NOW is a huge step! This is a picture of our "family tree" - we bought it the first year of marriage and as you can tell it is a little small. It is only 4 feet tall but we love it just the same. We are hoping to get a bigger tree for next year. We have a little tradition with our Christmas ornaments. We buy a new "together" ornament each year - one for each year we have been married. We started with getting an ornament on our honeymoon and we have bought an ornament each year to represent that year. For instance, in 2008 we got a New Home ornament since we bought our house. For this year we got a celebratory snowman ornament to celebrate another successful year together. We love growing and seeing our collection grow as well.

And this is my pink Christmas tree! My mother in law bought it for me 2 years ago and it was my goal this year to find all pink ornaments to decorate it with. Here is my final product! From the glittery star on top, to each and every ornament, to the tree itself and down to the tree skirt...it is all pink! Just like a famous quote from one of my favorite movies, Steel Magnolias, "Pink is my signature color" (said in a Louisiana accent). My good friend works at Neiman Marcus and she was able to find me really wonderful pink ornaments at their Christmas sale, on her discount, for a couple of dollars a piece! I love it!! I cannot wait until we have a child so I can start a tree for them as well.

I am also proud to say that I have all of our Christmas shopping done and almost all of it wrapped too! Hubby and I tried to have everything bought and done by Thanksgiving for the first time ever. All I am waiting for is one last box to arrive from Amazon and I will have everything wrapped. I don't mean to be too boastful here - that isn't nice - but I am on cloud nine! So now our three weekends until Christmas will be busy doing other things. This coming weekend we are hoping to visit Hubby's parents down by Austin, the 9th-13th we will be house and dog sitting for my parents and then on Saturday the 18th we have our company Christmas party. Going to be busy, that is for sure! What upcoming fun holiday things do you and your family have planned?

What a fun tradition to get an ornament together every year. That's fantastic. Love the trees, the lights, and the festive mood. Enjoy the season my friend!
